The Collier County Board of County Commissioners named the Main Collier Government Complex "Freedom Memorial Park" and approved the placement of the "Talpra Magyar" ("Arise Ye Patriot"), a Commemorative Sculpture which marked the 50th Anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution. (shown on left)

The statue dedication on December 3, 2006 was the result of local Hungarian Americans pushing for recognition of the uprising, and county officials' desire to create monuments to freedom. By turning the complex into a freedom park, advocates hope to challenge people into thinking in concrete terms about what freedom means to them.

Mr. Andy Evva of the American Foundation for Hungarian Youth and Culture (TAFFHYAC) working with Mr. Frank Dobos of the Hungarian Club of Southwest Florida and local leaders dedicated the "Talpra Magyar" ("Arise Ye Patriot") memorial to the 1956 Revolution.
